Acco Rexel Polaris 1420 Electric Stapler / Punch Disassembly Instructions Use these instructions at your own risk. 1. Remove punch chad tray (i.e. "hole" catcher) 2. Remove the adhesive foot closest to AC adapter input 3. Remove the three screws holding the base/battery cover 4. DO NOT REMOVE THE FOUR SCREWS NOW VISIBLE. They hold the punch mechanism and are best not disturbed unless absolutely necessary 5. Remove the two screws deeply recessed (but not clearly visible) near the back of the machine 6. Remove silver cover. It is now only held by two clips near the front. If necessary, use a screwdriver to release the clips where they are visible protruding through the base. If necessary, the four screws previously mentioned can be removed to disassemble the punch mechanism. It is best NOT to do this unless necessary, because they are self-tapping (i.e. thread- forming) screws and have to deal with the biggest forces encountered within the device. Every time they are disturbed you effectively use up some of the useful life of the machine. Let me know if this is useful to you at steve at stevechampion period com
